Swapping from DX6I to DX7

Bought a DX7 for my new Trex 700 and have recently been trying to transfer the settings for my other heli's over. Having a few problems though.

-Firstly setting the gear switch for the gyro on the DX7 im used to the switch turning the LED on the gyro on and off for rate and HH mode but it dosnt do it with the DX7 i take it, it is just changing the % value set under 0 and 1 of the rate setting ?

-Secondly i copied the %pitch curves over and the same % actually dosnt give me the same pitch when using a pitch gauge to check it. Is this normal? Does this also mean my throttle curves will be different?

I had to start from scratch when I converted to a dx7, all the subtrims were out of wack along with the swash mix, servo reversing etc. My throttle and pitch curves remained the same though. As for the gyro, i have my gain on the gear channel and adjust the +/- endpoints. Then I can flick the switch from HH to Rate.
