Buddying a DX7

OK with the best intentions my supplier sold me DX-7 which he understood would buddy with a JR TX. It appears this is incorrect and you can only use another DX7.

Any comments on this? As I'm still in the process of learning to hover I just want to know all of my availble options are.

If I can only use a DX7 can you have your buddy on a mode 1 TX and me on a mode II?

this sounds incorrect to me, I'll check it out as I've got JR tx and a DX7.

It will work as the slave transmitter to a JR but not the other way around


As you have a Spektrum Rx in your heli and your DX7 is the master,you will need another DX7 as the slave

I use a 3810 with my Titan and use my DX7 as the slave and thats fine so Martin at Mr Models was partly right

another thing about buddying with the dx7 as master is that you cant disable some of the controls like you can with most other modern transmitters.

this is key to quickening the learning and getting people up to speed safe, and solo quickly.

bit of a shame really... the dx7 had a lot of potential but its quickly loosing its appeal, relying on on the 2.4gig to sell it without the software to really back it up.

It would have been nice if they had included that capability,i hope they rectify it with there next Tx when it emerges

After my recent shot down I was all for getting a DX7 but all this stuff just goes to prove that it was rushed to market to a degree and I'm right for waiting for a module for my PCM9X and X2

ATTENTION DX7 WILL BUDDY AS A MASTER WITH A JR TX AS SLAVE


Sorry bout that,,if you go into the DX7 trainer menu and set it to p link it will work as a master and any JR transmitter will work as slave


Good old Spektrum have also set it so that the JR Tx does not need to be programmed to copy the Spektrums settings,,it somehow works

Its fine but you need to go into the trainer menu on the main menu and select the p link mode,,it will then work with any JR set..

That has made my life a bit easier
