Nutz-that button on the back needs to be pressed in when you do a range check-it also reduces power output, the idea being you should FULL control at 30 paces when doing your range check...-The system has transformed my Trex 450SE-totally locked in feel and instant response- my biggest problem at the moment is finding spare receivers- nobody seems to have any in stock-the ones that do have mostly the AR7000 and not the 6100 rx......

I got my AR6100 form Skyline a few weeks back and yes the Trex is diffently a lot more locked in and responsive. I love doing big fast loops with it knowing it ain't going to fall out of the sky becaue a bad signal has shutdown the ESC (gota love kontroniks 10 Sec spool up)

        2.4GHz Gear

        Here's a thought. . . .or two

        DX6/7 = 2.4 GHZ
Tiny Airborne wireless video camera /transmitter = 2.4 GHZ

(Those used by some modellers in their models).
One hopes the communications authority have considered this but there has been a deathly hush about these things. The BMFA have issued a very short directive on the use of this equipment.

How many modellers using Spektrums at a field will it take before cross interference sets in.

Most reviews of the new gear are done by modellers without true electronic training and are thus reviewed from a user point of view. The only guy I know with proper electronic experience that reviews new gear writes for Jet International

Any comments from a professional avionics engineer about these perceived problems would certainly be welcome. Certainly more informed than those from modellers whose electronic experience consists of connecting a battery to a charger!

If you keep on digging you will find the results,

but basically Spektrum has 80 channels available and locks on to 2 channels at once (unlike Futaba system which constantly channel hops), The TX and RX are dual paths so if 1 link goes down you have the redundancy of the other link.

The Spektrum TX binds to the RX using technology similar to a UUID that you get on a computer, the chances of having the same UUID is a million, billion, trillion, quadrillion, quintillion....... duotrigintillion to one (or something like that.)

I have tried range tested my electric heli in a room filled with 5 active 2.4Ghz devices which were on and active (3 of them were computing equipment), I went for a walk outside and down the road with no trouble to the range or control of the model (I had a spotter in the same room on a mobile phone to assist with that test).
I am sure this system has been throughly researched as I had the same questions as yourself and even after purchasing mine I am still trying to find a flaw with the 2.4Ghz system................I am afraid to say they don't seem to be any at the moment, but if one is found I bet it would hit the forums faster than I me downing a pint.

All your questions should be answered here

Spektrum gear is not affected by other 2.4ghz stuff in any way shape or form

I have just spoken to someone at Inwoods and the demand for the Spektrum is sky high! They are currently out of stock and are not getting their orders filled 100% by the supplier.

So it looks like Phoenix will have to stay in the box until mid-March which is when they have been told the next delivery will be

Unless, of course, there is somewhere else out there that has one...........

Phone around, some places will have stock, I manages to pick one up on Monday.

If you want to get started on Phoenix then you're welcome to use my old JRXP662, you;ll need a charger - but you'll need one for the DX7 anyway as for some reason it doesn't come with one.

I thought that was a very strange thing to make savings on, I cant think of any other reason why they wouldnt include it

I will have a ring around tomorrow - where did you get yours from?

I may take you up on the offer of borrowing you JRXP662 if I am unable to source a Spektrum set for a few weeks. I will let you know.

                        Cheers

I went through this yesterday, Fast Lad no stock, Skyline no stock, Midland no stock, Revolution no stock, local store mode 1 only. I ended up searching on Ebay, scored one for £239 Buy IT Now and it arrived this morning, they seem to be getting as rare as rocking horse sh*t!
