  • Batterys for dx6i

Since having my Dx6i ive used the batterys that came with it (1.5v)
Ive bought some rechargeable batterys, there Duracell at 1.2V, the problem is that I fully charge them but when I out them in the tx they last literally a few mins and then get the beeping flat batterys sound. I put the default batts in and there all fine.

Now im asking if the rechargeables at 1.2v are suitable enough for the TX, and would the voltage affect it.
    Cheers in advance.

In the instructions at what voltage does it state the alarm will sound? The rechargeables should hold around 5.2 to 5.3 volts before dropping down slowly to 4.8 volts when they will need to be recharged. Did you slow charge, low current for 16 hours, the batteries before first use?

I have just put some eneloops in a DX6i and it is showing 5.4 volts on the display.

I use 1300mah in mine and they last for ages, I suspect your charger isn't charging properly.

The rechargable Duracells are 2650 mAh and the default ones are... well just looked and it doesnt say. When i first tried the Duracells I put them in and came the beeping noise and I thought that maybe I didnt turn the charger on or something, so put them on charge again and same. very strange.

Sounds like you've either got some duff rechargeables or the charger itself is duff
I use Energizer 2450mah in mine and they last for ages. I've also got some 2000mah which also perform fine.

Ive just put them on recharge again, if they fail will pop to Asda later and get a new charger, I think if you use rechargables they more or less start paying for them selves including charger straight away with regards to buying new normal batts.

As a matter of interest. How long are you charging them for?
I put mine on for a minimum of 12 hours.

Untill the red light goes green tbh I couldnt give you an exact time (I think it was overnight for the past two charges and the TX reads c. 3.7v a few mins ago when I tried again) ive put them on charge now so i'll wait and reply in this thread.

I charge all my Ni-Cd & NiMh batteries with the Prodigy or iMAX

Get some single cell battery holders and wire them up in parallel
That way you can charge 1 cell or more depending on the number of cells you wire up
Just set charger for charge rate, the voltage will be set by the charger itself

If any of that made any sense

Fingers crossed for ya. I just use an energiser one I got from Robert Dyas a couple of years back, coupled with some 2300 mAh batteries I got for £1.99 from Aldi. Worked fine for me when I had my 6i.
