  • DX7 & Anologue Servos

    Hi All

Is there any problem using a DX7 TX & AR7000 RX with non digital futaba servos?. I was told that the servos used MUST be digital, but I cannot see this written anywhere

    Cheers

Whoever told you that is talking complete and utter CRAP

Any servo will do JR,Futaba,Hitec etc,etc

I am using analogue servos on some of mine and so is a friend

Not a problem in any way

Just to point out an issue with the suppied servos,,ds821`s

I heard several rumours that the output shaft can shear off in flight so i opted not to use mine for a flight surface control so to speak

A fellow club member has purchased the DX7 and fitted the supplied servos to his new heli
        #
1 of the output shafts apparently snapped off during the setting up process

There is obviously a safety issue here and at least a real risk of somebody having an in flight failure..

I reckon anybody using them in a heli had better be very careful,,i for one will never fly mine on anything but throttle or say rudder on a fixed wing or in an RC car

i "broke" one of them... scary. it just fell off when taking the servo horn off the servo.

weird thing is, i tried to break another tried all sorts including over tightening the servo horn screw and couldnt get it to break. Inspecting the parts shows a shiney surface on the break line suggesting its too brittle.

I was aware of this a while ago - so fired them up and tried to twist the output arms against the motors and they were all perfect - but they are JR so won't be using them , any offers ???? - worrying though ??

I was contemplating purchasing the DX7 set but am now wondering if it is worth the risk.

Does anyone know if you can just buy the transmitter and receiver without the servo's?

I have looked around but can only find the Rx sold seperately.

                Cheers,
