      At a guess, Id say you've probably got the timer switched on and that's what's bleeping at you

        Bleeper = noise pollution

        And it is even worse coz it bleeps at the most sensitive frequency to our ears - no wonder all our wives complaints. Now you know why they can hear every word you utter including some that you're about to utter.

          Just a comment about the bleeping and it's opened up a can of worms!

          The timer was showing count down and 6 minutes. I've never used the timer so if that means it's on it must be the default state.

            Well I finally decided I can do without the timer and performed a buzzer-ectomy. Now all my problems are over!!!
