Surely just using a +100/-100 mix from channel 8 (assigned to the required switch and unused in the heli) to channel 7 (gyro sens channel) will convert the (say) +70% gyro setting into a -70% gyro setting - i.e. switch it from HH to rate, no matter what flight mode you're in.

    That's what I'm after anyway.

I need to find time to play.........

All the Rudd/DR switch does is switch between the values set on the Gyro menu. Which will then give you a choice of either HH or Rate irrespective of what your idle up switch is set to...

Let's say I've got the Gyro Sens function activated, and have gyro settings in HH mode of 70% in NRM for low level hoverring around, 65% in ST1 for normal flying and 60% in ST2 for 3D flying.

Ok, now I decide to hover around in ST1 but want to check my tail linkage geometry, so I want to flick it into rate mode - i.e. -60%. On another day, I might want to do this in NRM mode, or ST2 mode.

I don't want to use the Rudd DR switch to flick between 60, 65 and 70%, I want to use it (or another switch) to flick between +60 and -60, and also +65 and -65, and +70 and -70.

My old cheap'n'cheerful Sanwa RD8000 did this automatically with ease! RIP!

I think I see what you are getting at now but to me its just making something simple over complicated. I just want to set the HH and Rate gains and fly and if it needs the odd tweak then so be it, just seems a bloody nightmare having 6 different gain settings

But you need different gyro rates for different flying styles.

Close-in precision hoverring always needs a higher gyro rate than whizzing around the sky, or even doing 3D.

And as a plane flyer, I like to fly rate gyro mode sometimes (not always) as it makes the heli fly more like a plane.

Can't be done to my knowledge... i've just sat there and tried mixing this that and the other... my head nearly exploded basicaly once the gyro sense is active you can't make any other function affect it/aux 2... it just comes up as a dashed line in the mix setup and travel adj menu, so you can't mix to it to change it from a + to - value.
i set the gyro sense to auto then in device select put aux3 on aux2 switch i know you'd like it on the rudd d/r but it was selectable.... mixed aux3 as master to the dashed line that comes up(must be aux2= gyro sense) to change from + to - then went into the monitor and it just doesn't do anything.... beleive me i've tried everything
              cheers Lee

If it ain't broke fix it until it is
yes i'm an idiot and no i couldn't care any less

Ade, now that you're online, perhaps you know an answer to this thread, if there is one?
