  • Which receiver?

I have an Ansmann Skywolf 'Big scale' which I have just got going again. I do enjoy flying it, but the Tx is rubbish, and the heli won't bind to my DX6i. I assume its because of the Ansmann Rx.

Which Spektrum receiver do I need to put in the heli so my DX6 will bind to it? An AR500?
The heli is only a coaxial, so only 4 channels needed right?

    Many thanks

I would get the ar6100e just right for that heli!!!

Sorry, are you trying to bind a DX6 or DX6i ? - there are compatability issues here.

Does it have to be that one? 6 channel?
I want to spend as least as possible to get it compatible. Is there a cheaper 4 channel item?

          Thanks

I don't know the heli, but 4 channels might be enough (so an AR500 rx) provided that the gyro isn't getting any cueing from the rx. Trouble is that the AR500 won't be of any use on other helis (I'm thinking of future-proofing here, it's really intended as a full-range aircraft rx) and isn't quite so compact as an AR6110 or AR6110E, both of which are also lighter. E-flite put them in Blade 400s etc for a good reason!

Take a look at the prices at Inwoods: the AR 500 is £34.50 and the AR 6110E only £32.95. Doesn't get better than that!

I've just taken the receiver off and its got a built in speed controller
I fear this is going to cost alot just to be able to fly it with the DX6i.... Bugger

You will probably find both speed controllers are built into one unit with the actual receiver. It is possible on some units to split the Rx part off & connect up a Spektrum Rx. I've done this on an Esky Dauphin. See my blog :-

Hmm - strange! Sorry about that!

If you click on my name in this post, the bottom item is blog, and if you select that, you should see my last blog item, which is the Esky item. Any problems, let me know.
