  • Horizon Hobby - simply brilliant!

I decked my 450 a little while back and lost one of the antenna's from my AR6100e rx. The 450 has been flying fine but I decided that I needed to have the rx repaired as I was worried about range issues.

I sent it to Horizon Hobby last week and I just got it back today with two new antennas and the latest quick connect firmware installed and fully range/function tested. All for FREE! They didn't even ask me for postage costs - wow.

Now that's what I call real service. I just phoned them and said a big thank you! They have a customer for life now!

    Cheers
    Simon

They have built an excellent reputation, high customer expectation and raised the bar far too high for other companies. Hope they can keep it up forever.

                Me too.
I sent my DX7 in for checking after a crash that destroyed a Rappy 50. They found an intermittent fault with the aeriel and repaired it for free and even paid the postage both ways.

                Tremendous service.

there service is the best in the hobby as far as i cant tell, they sent me some trim switches for free for m dx6i, replaced my blade MSR in two day no questions asked.

i hope Align is listening they have the worst service by far, i have written many email to them about my bearing failure on my 450, they haven't even taken the courtesy to reply. their heli's are great but service is Pants.

Hi all, a Newby here. Long time reader but first time poster

I dont like to make my first post on this great forum on a negative point but my my dealings with horizon hobby have been nowhere as good as you guys.
I have only recently got into this hobby, and was lucky to buy myself a complete second hand set up including Raptor 50, Spektrum DX7 with Phoenix Flight sim. (Hello and thanks to the guys at Oxon Heli Collective) In my eagerness to learn, I managed to break my DX7. I was charging the battery in the DX7 while playing on the sim and had the following error the next day "BACK UP ERROR"

So I rang Horizon Hobby Monday 14th Dec and they said it was a simple problem and if I posted it to them they would sort it out with a quick turn around. I sent my DX7 that lunchtime Special recorded delivery so they should have received it on Tuesday 15th.

I rang Horizon Hobby on Fri 18th to check they had received my DX7 and if they could tell me how long it would take. They replied that they could not fix it there, and had to send it off to be fixed.
I rang back on Wed 23rd for an update and was told again they had to send it off and I could expect a repair bill of £30 to £50

I have not heard anything from HH since and I was going to wait till this Friday to ring them for an update, what with Xmas break, New year and last week's weather.
But after reading your stories about the really good service you guys have been getting with people saying how quick the service was and for free, I am starting to wonder if my DX7 problem is not as simple as first suggested and wondering why it is taking longer than first mentioned.
I will ring Horizon Hobby tomorrow afternoon but any help or advice will be greatly appreciated.

P.S. Great forum I have picked up loads of great advice over the last few months.

                    Paul
