  • Hitec Supreme 8 IIs

Hi bought a Raptor 30 with a Hitec Optic 6 tranmitter with a Supreme 8IIs receiver but when i connect the battery its totally dead, the red light doesn't even come on.

What's the chances of it being something nice and cheap like the battery or its is bin material? Also it has 3 pins but the battery only has 2, which way should it go?

How much do these sell for too, I have been on ebay but nothing there apart from usa nd seem to be about 20-40 bucks

    Hi
Usually the battery is connected to the rx via a switch unit which has a 2 pin connnector for the battery and a 3 pin connector into the receiver.
If you haven't got one of those, perhaps the 2 pin can go into the receiver in a number of different ways. It can actually connect to any of the servo or the battery inputs on the receiver - the power pins are all connected together inside the receiver.
Hopefully your battery has a red wire and a black wire.

note the pic is a 72mhz. your tx and rx should be 35 mhz as in uk 72 is illegal.
The pin furthest away from the end of the receiver is the servo output signal, not used on the battery connection.
The middle pin is +5 to 6v the red wire from the battery +ve.
The pin nearest the end of the receiver is the 0v, black battery -ve wire (might be brown).

The reciever is dual conversion. It needs a hitec or futaba dual conversion Rx xtal on the same frequency as the transmitter crystal. A single conversion xtal wont work.

    Is your battery charged?
35 mhz gear is not worth much to sell, everyone is switching to 2.4Ghz - and the hitec optic 6 is an entry level budget set. Probably best to keep it and use it on a PC simulator.
There is a possibility that you can buddy lead the optic 6 to a futaba 2.4 as I beleive the buddy lead connections are the same - the sim connecton is the same as a futaba round plug.

The optic 6 has a tx module and in time it may be possible to get a 2.4Ghz module upgrade.
