The gimbals are better than those on my JR 9XII and Futaba 10CG, neither of these has ball raced sticks. In the hand it feels somewhere between the two for quality - wish it had been on the market 12 months ago.

The gimbals are positively beautiful IMO Steve.

In-Fact the best Ive ever tried.. That includes the DSX9 I had.

I had a play with one of these a couple of weeks back. Overall I was very impressed with it. I liked the idea of being able to feed back the voltage from the battery pack to the transmitter live in flight the most. Also I found it very easy to use.

The only downside is its a bit cheap looking.

Mode 1 pilot here. No cyclic ring needed

Mode is surely irrelevant to an electronic cyclic ring? I use the eCR (anacronym city ) with my 10CG and although I fly mode 2 it would make no difference if it was mode 1,3 or 4 as its there to stop you driving the swash beyond the circle it should move in... i.e the excessive travel in the corners of the stick gimbal.

How many receivers have you had to buy..

I got my A9 a few days ago from Fast Lad. What a fantastic bit of kit, got rid of all my specky kit and am not sorry.!!!

If it properly advatised, i cant see why this couldnt be a big part of the 2.4 market

Can you confirm if the CE mark is on the module or the radio itself (or both) ?

I move between the UK and the USA a lot and I'm wondering if they are shipping CE marked radios to all markets as the USA offers right now for a free extra receiver look tempting.

The receivers are all CE marked it seems even in the USA, just not sure about the radio itself.

how are you finding the aurora tibbs?? any pictures? how does it fell in the hands compared to a dx7?
