Hitec Aurora 9

I was in Fastlads early this week when Andy Hornyak showed me the latest Hitec Aurora 9 radio.

To say I havent the slightest interest in this brand of radio it certainly wet my appetite when I had a play around with one.

Little features like adjusting the stick tensions without removing the rear of the case.. More program mixes than you can shake a stick at.. Ball raced gimbals all round.

If it wasnt the fact I have a heap of Spektrum equipment this would certainly go high on my list.

the plastic feels alot nicer than the futaba 10 and also the spekky/jr9 ... it also has rubber on the hand grips ....

does it have a cyclic ring? i asked this over on RR but no answer. is there swash mixes aswell?

the swash menus are really important to me. i was going to get the JR11x but the lack of a lipo in there annoys me.

i think it does Paul .. .and yes there are swash mixes and also you can assign n e switch to n e function .. i had a play with one in LHS ... and its that easy to use i was playing programming a heli without looking at n e instructions

cancel that last post guys. it doesn't have a swash ring. been proposed to be included in a future firmware update according to rcgroups hitec rep. pretty major oversight that one for me.

oh well ... least they can update the tx to have it at a later date tho .. My cyclocks have cyclic rings so no biggie

what got me most was the price for this radio .. £280 with a 7 channel tx or £300 for a 9 channel one .... looks like futaba and jr have some serious competiton .. i had a play with a futaba 8 and tbh my 7 feels better ... the 10 is nice and so is the jr9 ... but the hitec one feels nicer in the hands and alot more secure with rubber backed hand grips .. .also the sticks feel soo smooth and nice as well ....

Me too ... I was more bothered about reliability than n e thing else but it seems to have glowing reports over in the states Apart from no cyclic ring which i dont need ... this is a nice radio to be had and not alot more than a 7 channel one from others which is more happiness ... another player in the market can only be a good thing
