  • motor disable on DX6i?

How do you disable the motor on a blade 400 in the DX6i? In laymans terms please. I heard something about going full range 0-100 in stunt or something. But that means bugger all to me. I need a step by step noob guide.
    Thank you

I'm rebuilding the head, and want to set it up with the Dx. And I don't really want to faff around unplugging and plugging back in the wires to the esc.
      Cheers

Yep, electronics are great, but experience with many types of electrical devices has shown one thing, never trust electronics when it really counts, circuits can do weird things from time to time, best bet is unplug.

if you dont want to unplug the motor remove the pinion! if your rebuilding then it will be easier too,
But ur refering to Throttle hold i think once you have the throttle calibrated properly in your throttle curve menu there a curve for hold set that at a flat line at all 5 points and i use 0.5% just to be sure its below the minimum throttle position, this is turned on and off by the top right 2 position switch marked hold.

i think its easier just to unplug the 3 wires and job done then when finished just plug them back in no changes made
              cheers

Unplugging the wires is often a faff. I usually use throttle hold (not idle up! You don't want to get them confused!) to disable the motor while setting up/ fettling. However, I can't deny there's a greater chance of injury, and I only really dare do it because I have a long soft start on my ESC.

If you've any doubt about what you're doing, unplug/ remove the motor!

I agree with the post's above take no risk's as work around's get you in to bad habits at the field. In any case you should have your thottle hold switch active as its apart of your start up routine. Just imagine you've just put your Blade 400, 450 or even 500 down to fly and then you walk back to the flight line and your pride and joy is now full throttle head your way and you have your back to it. How many times have you or heard other pilots say how lucky they were that they had their throttle hold switch on. Never trust your heli/aircraft just to sit there until you are ready to fly.

I've always used a Y lead and have an Rx battery handy for setup duty on all my electrics. Saves disconnecting stuff and keeps things nice and safe
