AR7000 aerial broken - next steps?

Guys,

I was checking my Raptor over before flying her tomorrow as she's been on the shelf for well over a month now. I noticed that one of the aerials on the AR7000 looked a bit limp and then it came off in my hand!

DAAAAMMMNNN! So no Heli flying for me tomorrow, even though the satellite rx looks good. (My only other heli rx is an AR6100 and I ain't gonna risk it!)

I understand that Horizon Hobby are extremely good about repairing these things but don't know the best approach or what my first steps should be. Can any one please advise?

Which part has the aerial come off? Is it the main rx unit or the satellite bit mate?

I have used an aeriel off one of my unsed recievers. Unsoldered and resoldered to the broken one. (obviously trying not to put too much heat on the board)

Depends how confident you are at soldering, if not, send it to horizon mate.
Does anyone at your club have a spare? You could always borrow one and just bind it to your Tx

Thanks guys. The damage is to the main rx, not the remote unit. My first instinct was to re-solder it myself - doesn't look like a difficult job, although access will be a pain and require me to chip away at the casing a bit. For that reason I thought I might as well let the experts do it. I'll give horizon a call on Monday morning. Is there any specific department I should be asking for?

It's a disappointment, but I'll just have to fly the 2 EDF Jets instead. And judging by my performance on Phoenix tonight, I may have just been saved from myself!
