  • Quick recomendation on using 2 Rx packs.

Just got a new receiver (AR9000 with 2 satellites) for the spectra as I was out of channels. As I am running 2 NiMH packs in parallel, can I hook one through a switch cable into the bat input on the Rx, and one through a switch cable into an aux channel for a little more security?

At the moment I have both switched (to allow individual charging) into a y splitter, then into the bat socket on the Rx.

    Thanks in advance.

Are you planning on using both at the same time?

It should work ok like this providing that they are at the same voltage. If the voltages are different you might find that one pac tries to "charge" the other through your receiver. If the voltage difference is big enough this might burn out the receiver.

If you charge them in paralell as one big pack and always turn them both on (so they discharge at the same rate) then this wont be a problem.

Wiring one into aux and one into bat will give you some redundancy on the wiring, but you shouldnt need this if your adaptors and wiring are upto scratch (IMO)
