Unexpected voltage drop on DX7!???

My voltage low warning alarm went off at the field this afternoon reading only 9v

The Outrage lipo (only 4 cycles) was only charged yesterday so i thought i must have left the TX on in the case or something but when i got home and put it back on the 10S it was still nearly full but only reading 8.4v?

Both cells are fine and balanced.... is this a problem with the lipo or TX. I've not got a standard pack anymore to test in the TX.

Puzzled... any ideas chaps?

If it saying it's full but only 8.4v then it suggests th charger is only seeing and charging 2 cells. Check this and report back. Possibly a dodgy balance connector or charging board.

Well, the expected 'charged' voltage for a 2S lipo IS 8.4V. You shouldn't be able to get a 2S lipo anywhere near 9V!

Shouldn't there be 3 cells? 2 cells will be fully charged at 8.4v.

bliiiiiimmmmmmmey!!!.... i was only charging it on the 2S port on the balance board!!

Put it back on now and the 10s is saying low voltage and only 6% full

Hope i have not shafted a cell

Would hav thought the 10s would have picked up that i was charging it as a 2s not 3s pack..... anyway, me being a pillock

Hopefully it will be cool.... the 10s is working its magic as we speak and at least its not a performance pack running a heli

With only the balance port connected as a 2 cell there is no way for the cellpro to tell its a 3 cell pack.
If you connected the main discharge lead as well, like what is necessary to get the internal resistance readings on the pc, then the cellpro would cotton on and inform you of your pillockness

Its fixing it!

Four hours and six minutes into the charge and the 10S is mending my blunder!!!!!

Very clever bit of kit. This is the first lipo i have "mis treated" and all but sucked just one cell of the 3S RX pack

I have been watching progress and the Cellrpo 10S has dropped charged rate (automatically) to 0.5A variable and has balanced all three cells to the same (4.07V at present).

Now all cells are level its slowly..... very slowly filling the pack and now at 82%.

If this comes good then its the ultimate vouch for a 10s charger!! I'm already hugelly impressed with how it handles all my different packs with a "plug and charge" ease of use as well as consistent balancing every time.

Seems it can even sort out a pillocks **** up like mine tonight!!

He He.... not got a PC link on the charger yet (just another technical gadget for me to **** up! LOL) but its still going....88% done and cells are 4.17V so getting there

I will update progress.... and won't be leaving the room till its done

No swelling yet.... just a big bill from Npower on the horizon!!! LOL

Sorted!

well just over 5 hours of intensive care on the 10s and the pack is completely balanced.... all three cells spot on at 4.20V.

Complete recovery.... no harm done.

Well done indeed to my beloved cellpro 10S... impressive indeed.

Wonder how many packs have been written off unduly without the chance of 10s healthcare!!

This one would have hit the bin had it not been for the charger i reckon
