  • Looking for rx voltage display

Does anyone know a UK shop selling a small onboard rx power monitor that displays the actual voltage?

There are a zilliion variations of the thing wih a row of LEDs showing from "good" to "bad" or whatever but I want something that has a 2 or 3 digit readout of the actual voltage.

There is a company in the states called Radical RC that does them and sellers on Ebay in China but I'd prefer not to have to buy from overseas.

Cool! Thanks for that. The thing is, I searched Midlands and Revolution and I googled and saw nothing. I found one on the BMFA classified but I'd like to get more than one if they work.

        Thanks

do you want to keep it installed on the heli or just a plug in unit for checking?
spectrum make a small box that plugs in giveing voltage displays, it is small and light enough to install and leave it on the heli.
          Spektrum RC

or if you looking for something larger you can use some thing like this.
DC 0-200V Digital LED Volt Voltage Panel Meter Red LED on eBay (end time 11-Aug-09 17:57:09 BST)

5v to power the unit (use a spare channel out of your rx to power it) the second 2 wires go to the + and - of the pac you want to measure the voltage on.

I thought about the possibility of something just to check on the ground, it just depends on how practical that is. Ideally I think something small and cheap that can be mounted somewhere on the heli.

The Spektrum flight log is an interesting thing. I don't think I'd get one just to monitor the rx power but the data logging is interesting (you must be using an rx with the 'data' connector).

            Thanks for the ideas.

yeah i use data connection, but you can plug it into any rx channel to get the volt reading, i think its was under £20 if i rember correctly.
the good thing with reading the power from the rx means you can move the tx sticks and see the voltage drop while the servos are moveing, the other type normaly plugs into the charge leed for the rx pac witch goes dead when you switch the radio on.
I am not clued up on them, there may be one out there that puts a load on the rx pac to simulate the draw the servos put on the pac.

unless its a foamy plane or a small heli (450)
i run AR9000 RX`s i like to set my own fail safe settings in the rx rather than just haveing the throttle cut.
