  • Dx7 broken switch

The idle up switch is broken. Removing the casing shows the body has detached from the toggle part.

Question. Is it best to just get the switch and replace it oneself. If so then Q2, what is the name of the type of driver which effectively is a split end to deal with the retaining ring/collar please. And then Q3, where does one get one?

Thanks in advance for any helpful advice.

I just used a pair of small circlip pliers.

I broke the aux2 switch on my dx7 phoned horizon and they sent me one free of charge to solder in.

Thanks, Leo. I have emailed Horizon Hobbies so will see what they say. It would need a pin spanner, otherwise known as a hook spanner to undo the retaining collar. Would you happen to know where one could obtain one of the right size please? Or did you just use a screwdriver and push the collar around?

I used a old pair of ball link pliers which i filed down slightly. Worked a treat to undo the switch locking ring.

                    Thanks, jjh32. That was helpful.

Actually, considering that it seems the body has merely separated from the toggle part there seems no reason why the two should not be re-glued together. Might try that.
