  • Spektrum rev limiter

bought one of the spektrum RX's with a built in rev limiter for the avant i wish i hadn't though cause i haven't a clue why the limiter wont allow the head speed to go above 10 rpm

magnetic distrubance sensor... The coil thet attaches to the back plate has a frequency injected into it and this changes as the crank pin pases it because the field is disturbed by the crank pin.

Positioning is (i expect) quite important for these as the ally engine case has a tendency to make like a shield between the sensor and the crank pin.... check its properly located to start with... do you have a link to the manual i will go av a read..

                  Spot-on Tom.

Ease the sensor back about 1mm from the crankcase Martin.

Should work fine then. If not post back.

Also have you checked the red light flashes on when the crank crosses the sensor when rotating it by hand. If not you have a hardware problem.

I cant back it off that much tim unless i put the washers underneath the plastic bracket?
I haven't checked to see he the red light flashes will check it 1st thing tomorrow.

If the sensor is touching the crankcase then thats most likely the problem Martin.

Washers isnt a problem, Ive used them.

Ok so i may need to pad the sensor out a bit more by fitting the washers under the plastic bit of the sensor mount. Is this what you found you had to do Tim? I'm using a YS 91 st

Spot-on Martin. There is actually a very tiny adjustment screw on the plastic mount that can be moved to fit.

Easy option is to space it out if you have big hands like mine.

thats half the problem on the aurora tim there is no room to get your hands in to adjust the mount via that screw. Also the st has a very shallow back plate and the sensor is only about 1mm away from back plate with mount maxed out.

the bottom plate comes off the Aurora a piece of p**s. you can mount it at the front of the backplate if you want too, or on the side. you should have enough room there.
