    **update**

Bearings arrived today and fitted now.

It was indeed a fiddly job but can report that my sticks are "Much Smoother" than before.

Maybe my bronze bushes were knackered too but all I can say is there is no notchy gimbals now.

Sticks are creamy smooth and in answer to anyone asking.!!!!!!!

Yes a very worthwhile upgrade IMO..

No need to apologise, Ken. Nice to get some more input. I have the bearings already, just going to wait till my Tx is out of warranty, or starts to get a bit notchy before I fit them.

                  Sod the warranty Brian.

Fitted the upgraded bearings to my brand new DX7SE the first week I had it.

I must admit the difference was less with the new set than my ageing old DSX7 but still a very worthwhile upgrade that I think is worth doing.

I've not spoken to anyone who's actually used the vid to do an upgrade, did it help de-mystify it?

                      Indeed Ashley.

Watched the video first a couple of times to get everything right in my head (takes some doing) before I started.

Then watched in sequence as I fitted the bearings too.

Quite fiddly for my big hands but well worth the time fitting them.

would 7x4x2.5 shielded (and pre-lubricated) bearings fit? or do they need to be 2mm wide (only avaiabler in open form).

                            Incidentally, 7x4x2 open bearings

I did both of my DX7's. I found it relativly straighforward and easy enough if you took your time. Then again I am an ex computer hardware engineer and often did laptop repairs.

In the end I upgraded to a DSX12 and need to do nothing to that set
