  • Anyone using Align gov with Futaba 12FG?

    If so, what are your settings either with 7ch Fasst or Multi Channel Fasst? Has anyone allocated a switch within the FUNCTION sub menu for on and off or just allocated a switch within the GOVERNOR menu?

    Cheers

    Pete, don't know if this is much help but i have mine set up on/off by my aux2 swich on my dx7.
    then i set the percentage value as per the guide with the gov for the head speed. works fine, even use the align gov on my aurora

      Pete, dont use the Gov function....this was meant to be used with the GV-1, just go into function menu in your tranny and allocate an aux channel to a two or three way switch.

      Cheers

        Thanks Simon.

        I have read that the Gov function can be used with other governors than the GV-1?

        How have you set the headspeeds once the aux switch is allocated? And how have you set on/off?

          you use the end points of the channel you have allocated to adjust the headspeed

            Ok, heres how its currently set:

            In the GOV menu I have normal, Idle1 and Idle2 set to Rate 1.

            UNIT- %

            SWITCH - SA for on/off

            GROUP - SNGL

            RATE - NOR -OFF, IU1 75% IU2 79%

            I have not allocated any switches in the FUNCTION sub menu.

            Now, the governor is causing the engine to run really bad. Its missing and even cutting out (mostly during spool up). The gov itself works fine on the bench and ticks all the boxes in terms of green/red light for on/off etc. I have no idea whats causing this. Heli gremlins have been in I think!

              Hi Pete, you can but it gets complicated,same as using the Gyro menu for non futaba Gyros,,,much easier to use a Aux function with a simple two way switch,if you use the gov menu the figure stated is not the figure you need...you need to cross refrence with the servo monitor/end point menu.

                hi pete

                same as above all i do is plug the govenor into channel 7, and then set the govenor switch to aux 2, and then ajust the engine speed with the atv's or travel adjust to the figures stated on the chart that came with the govenor.

                hope this helps

                  I run my TJPro on my FF9 using the Gov menu - there is a good description on its config somewhere and I expect its very similar to the align etc. I have it linked to a 3 pos switch so its off, on-low head speed, on-high head speed.

                  Of course as people have said you can always assign a switch to the spare channel and go this way.

                    Simon - I use the gyro menu to run my Spartans with no probs. I'm pretty sure I can get the Align gov running using the GOV function too. Have you completely INH your GOV function? What channels have you plugged the governor wires into? Thanks for the replies.

                      A guy at the field uses the GOV function on his 10C to operate his Align gov on his 700 without a problem. I use it with my Multigov as well to have differnet speeds per mode.

                      Looking at my 10C, surely all you need to do is set

                      MIX = ACT
                      SW = E
                      UP= 100%
                      CNTR =50%
                      DOWN = 0%
                      -cut- = CH7

                      This gives me three levels of govener, but on the MGP you set the headspeed on the govener with a programmign card. I assume you just do the same for teh Align gov, but adjust the actual % to the desired headspeed on the gov as per the table in the manual.
                      Regards,

                        Hi Jason

                        If only it were that simple! The 10C gov menu is the same as my old 9C and easier to use than the 12FG. The 12FG gov screen isnt the same as the 10C (wish it was). I have listed my screen settings in the previous posts of this thread.

                            LOL!! Oh, go on then!!!

                            Seriously, the 10C is the Tx to get. The new 2.4 dedicated version has all the features that attracted me to the 12FG but at half the price! The menu screens are more familiar to me also having owned a 9C.

                            I hope someone can help me out here.

                              From looking at the manual, dont you just set the group to single, assign the switch to your flight mode switch (E?) and then adjust the % for each Rate?
