  • DSX12 and Spartan DS760

Ok as per the title, Got my shiney new DSX12 from Fast Lads this morning and I've set the heli's up on the TX and all appears fine.

Can anyone tell me how or where to find out how to set the DSX12 up so that I can switch between HH and Rate mode om the DS760? I need to do this so I can enter setup mode on the gyro. I've got the gain figures set in so that at least I can fly but it would be nice to do it properly.

Oh and from the Test hovers all I can say is Yes, £1300 does indeed make a difference. The heli's feel much more locked in and precise. I just need to loosen the sticks a little as they are a bit tight around the centers

Looks like the best upgrade Ive made so far

Think you was on the phone to Jamie today talking about this radio unless I'm mistaken again.

He was telling you about the radio not fitting in the box properly for that ammount of money.

If its the same as the DSX9 then your governer will be assigned to channel 5 so plug the gyro into AUX2 and work it from there.

Obviously adjust the values with your endpoints in the "Travel Adjust" menu.

    That's where mine is anyway.

PS: You know you have to set the value's pretty high to gain entry into the setup mode when toggling the switch I take it.

If it's the same as the DSX9, then the default setting is for the gyro gain to be assigned to channel 7, and adjustments are made in the Gyro Sens menu.

You can of course plug the gain lead into channel 5 and adjust the end points to get your positive and negative values as Tim suggests. If you intend to use the Gyro Sens function with gain in Channel 7, then it uses a scale from zero to 100, rather than -100 to +100 which is the case on channel 5. In the Gyro Sens option, 50% is zero gain, 0% is maximum normal gyro mode and 100% is maximum heading hold, so the normal gain value rises from 0% to 100% as the Tx setting goes from 50 down to zero, and the heading hold value rises from 0% to 100% as the Tx value rises from 50 to 100.

All the above is how the DSX9 works.

LOL yes indeed it was me They are a decent bunch,

I'll us a bind plug to enter setup mode, I'll look into what my Rx and gyro gains are connected to and correct if required. According to the manual your supposed to be able to set the gyro up on the gear channel and run the hold mode from there.
