  • DSX9 Rates?

Can I assign a single switch for rates? ie: Rudder, Aileron and Elevator to one switch ?

You can tie them to a flight mode, but otherwise no, I don't believe so.

Flight mode is the JR way, I'm afraid. If you like it, great; if you don't, sucks.

I had a go on the club trainer last week. It's quite strange: all the same, but different. You fly HOW FAR AWAY? I can't just slow down when I don't know what to do? You land HOW FAST?

Have now spent a lot of time on the simulator practising approaches, so hopefully next time I can try some touch and goes. Should be fun. Or expensive.

I am so use to having throttle cut on the left hand side, when flying with other radios I still get confused and hit the left. One of the reasons why I bought a DSX9 again and not the 10CHG.

I let my cousin fly one of my foamies at the weekend ( he has been flying helis a few weeks longer than I ) and he said the same things almost - went to far out and thought he would lose it, tried to slow down to come back tail in haha.

Landing is a pain for me at the moment, I took out the landing gear on my Edge 540 after one heavyish landing It's now, after a weekend, been turned over to my basher plane which gets hand launched and belly landed!

I used Dual rates when I first started with helis on a Futaba 7C and have never used them again - try flying an Edge 540 on full throw and the thing is mental!

I'm in the process of converting my helis from a 9XII to a 10CG and switch locations isn't a problem with the 10CG, all switches are assignable so I've set up the 10CG to be almost exactly the same layout as the 9XII - no confusion necessary

Ah no way! I didn't realise that was a function for throttle hold, idle up etc.

Nevermind... I didn't have to spend an extra £300 on RX's hehe.

Thats why I'm 'in the process' of converting

Is this just for helis and not FW?

You can use the programme mixes to mix each control to itself. For example you use one p-mix to set aileron as 'master' and also as 'slave', and assign the mix to whichever switch you want with say 60% at each end, or however much rate you want.

Then you use another mix and do the same with the elevator, but assign the mix to the same switch as the first mix.

You can programme several p-mixes into one switch so they all come on together when the switch is toggled.

                          etc etc.

That sounds just like what I need todo! Thanks very much, will give it a go now.

Don't think so. Go to the dual rate setup screen, and you can associate any one of the three dual rates (!) with a flight mode selection.
