  • Which 2.4G Transmitter?

Well I've read all the forum entries on here and am still confused (Doesnt take much!). Lots of forums outside of this excellent site, rubbish Spektrum, particularly the DX6i. So what is the best make of transmitter? I always used Futaba on my planks but they seem to have tripped up on the 2.4G arena; they get bad press as well. In terms of money I would be looking at around £100 (Is that unrealistic?) but would go further if need be. At the moment I would only be flying electric heli's. Any ideas anyone?

You can pick up second hand DX7's for around £100-£150, I think mine is awesome.

If you are at a club, its worth seeing what everyone else uses, as when you do get stuck with the features of it, someone is always there to show you where you are going wrong.

Also Horizon hobby offer some of the best support service I have come across.

the DX7 for me has a far better feel over the dx6i. As Sacko says.. look around and you maybe able to pick one up within your budget.

If I were to choose again, I would still go Spektrum. You have a wider range of receivers to choose from, and are all pretty commpetitively priced over the competitors.

Definitely a better feel compared to the DX6i, but you can pick up at good condition DX6i for around £65.

You do get what you pay for though, and I would never go back to the DX6i.

DX7 would be far best bet. It would move on to bigger if need too.You say your a futaba man me too. If year in your not getting on with DX7 sell it,they hold there money very well.
Futaba receivers range limited at best..small RX 2g 4 channel good for fixed pitch not for CP. 7 channel and 14<<f~$~ price.
I use spectrum module in mine get best of both small Rx very cheap
And on must forums users can setup TX blind folded which when you know nothing is a big bonus!
Problems people have had with speky how much was it fault of kit or person using it?? I never had a hint of a problem at all when i had DX7. Guy i helped to learn planks had nothing but problems but he was a bit(OK very) ham fisted with electrics to be fair. Watched him turn his servos by hand made you want too cringe..

There are several threads on here as to how good their CS is. I know first-hand, but I won't bore you with the details.
