FUTABA 2.4GHz newbie question

I have picked up a 6EX 2.4GHz FASST transmitter - Just wondered if it is compatable with other brand 2.4GHz receivers or is it only Futaba FASST 2.4GHz only receivers it will work with (i.e.R607FS or the newer R617FS)?
