Spektrum Lock-up - LEDs Afterwards

If you've had a lock-up with a Spektrum Rx with QC (V1.6 (or higher, I guess) firmware), I'm interested in the state of the LEDs afterwards. Especially on an AR6200.

Anyone had such a lock-up, where the LEDs were both on solid, ie not flashing, afterwards ?

No. I had lock up with a 6200 due to static on my 450 (not my 500) but the LEDs always flashed after.
The lockup was momentary both times and it landed OK.
Earthing the boom like my 500 and silicone belt lube seems to have cured it (30-40 flights since no incident).

Iassume you get the flashing lights if you disconnect the rx power and reconect it without power cycling the tx?

the "normal" meaning of flashing light is that the RX was power cycled, but the Tx was not. This indicates a loss of Rx power.

Internally, the Tx picks random channels when turned on. If a receiver is turned on and finds the same channel as the last time, it blinks.
I haven't had any problems with mine yet.

A friend of mine had a lockup with Spektrum as you describe with solid LED's at a public flying display, the heli ended up in the middle of a housing estate a fair distance away after falling a very long way - we were VERY lucky that no one was injured.

Once the model was retrieved we had no control over the model, it was just frozen. It took a few cycles of power to come back to life. I'm sure he'll chime in here if he sees this.

during that lock up, there was obviously not a failsafe or the throttle would have closed.
Beforre it came back to life where the servos diren to their fixed position, or free to move.
I often think we should have throttle return springs so the motor stops if there is a complete loss of power, like it does on an electric.
The spring force required is small, I doubt a decent throttle servo would notice it was there.

The throttle did cut, the esc managed that as it was an electric 600. All the servos were locked solid in position when we got there with no control from the Tx. Turning the power off freed up the servos, turning back on locked them again (in the position we left them after moving them manually). Cycling once more bought it back so that we could control it. All this time the lights were all solid.

Its quite hard to establish the exact chain of events without doubts after the event.
If the power was cycled to the rx, but the tx was left on, and you never got the flashing lights something is not right, or the RX doesn't have quick connect software upgrade.
However that is easily established by power cycling the rx with tx on now.
Whatever happened the Rx should go to horizon with a full explanation of what happened.
...they will no doubt send out a new rx.

I believe it did go back and horizon they sent a replacement.

I'm not complaining, just answering the initial post. I don't need convincing - I've made my own decision early last year.

This is consistent with my experience when I had the static lock-ups about a year ago.

I'm sure this is a QC AR6200, though I guess I should check to be certain...

The LEDs were solid after the incidents - hence my interest in whether QC Rxs have been known to lock up with solid LEDs afterwards.

Do you know if this was a QC Rx ? (A lot of those around aren't.)
