  • DSX9 - Swapping Flight mode & hold switches

    Guys,

I know some of you are doing this mod on your JR Macgregor DSX9's.
My other radio is a DX7 and I feel more comfortable with the US layout of the switches.

I'm not planning to keep the DX7 and is wondering should I keep the switches on the DSX9 as they are and get familiar with the layout or should I swap them?

On a side note, where can I get the correct labelling if I do swap the switches?

No, I got used to the layout, am not changing it!

    Hi
i just swaped from futaba 9c to dsx9 about 3 weeks ago.
i was going to re asign the switchs but in the end i decide to leave them as they are and get use to it.
what i have done to try and get the switches fixed into my head is,
I have an old futaba feild force 6 TX i use on my phoenix sim, i opend up the TX and swaped the switchs over so there the same places as my JR.
Its not so bad i am just geting to the point now where i can flick the switchs without thinking about what one i need to flick.
The only thing i would like to do is asign my timer to my idelup switch but i havent found how or if it can be done yet.

Can't be done I'm afraid, you can only start & stop the timer with the trainer switch, it can't be assigned to anything else

I thought about doing it when I got the Tx and discussed with Macgreggor. Unfortunatley it is not possible to get it done 'offcially' and therefore you will be likely to loose your warranty by doing it. As a result I have kept the Heli on the DX7 and use the DSX9 for planks that need the 9 channels. That said I have once managed to briefly switch the ignition off on my 50cc Yak (by hitting the throttle hold switch rather than the Flight Mode switch)........fortunately I caught it in time and it restarted!

Anyone found a reliable person to do the work or do people DIY?

Because I pinch rather than thumbs, I struggle to flick the flt mode switch on the right hand side. The switch is too short for my liking. Has anybody installed upgraded switches for flight mode? I still think I should move the switches around but would appreciate more of your opinion.

          Regards

Its fine doing things like this,, i have done so on a TX that i use for my sim.
But as soon as you open up that TX and start changeing stuff i think you will find your bmfa insurance is out the window.
