Which DX7 for heli: Standard or SE?

I have already read a thread where is recommended to buy the DX7 w/o servos than with.
But searching some webs I have found the SE ver and would like to hear your opinion if this one is better for heli and why.

2 reasons here why to buy the correct one for yourself.

The latest SE version has no trainer socket meaning no access to your sim. "Very importent"

The SE is the one I would choose because of the faster frame rate and obviously its the latest model.

If you already have a TX for using with the sim then buy the SE no question.

If this is your only TX then buy the standard DX7 with trainer socket.

Well worth thinking about.

PS: The bundled servos are the Spektrum ds821's which are very low budget items anyway.

i agree that the normal dx7 is the one! if as we do at our club have our top guy prepared to buddy box your learning curve with you, its bryll,as the sim aint always the same as real flight.
when our heli stig flys with you you know your in good hands.

Buy the standard, I cannot see the benefit of the SE for anyone other than top pilots!

Not to say you are not a top pilot :-)

I personally think the SE is not a step up from the standard. If it came with backlit screen, more mixes, menu options and a trainer port, then that would be a step up.

Love my se, you ideally need the 7100 rx too use the full potential.

Another point I found out:

For fully usage of the DX7SE, it required (is recommended) to work a receiver at least ver A7100 where. The dimensions are 47.3 x 40.2 x 14.2mm(W L H) which is the space some helis may not have avaliable...

The 7100 series receivers are basically made for the larger size helis Rad.

They WILL fit in any 30 size heli upwards.

450 Park flyer size helis usually go for the smaller 6100 series not needing the extra frame rate as they are mental to fly standard.

I just wonder next thing:

Is it not a waste of stuff to put AR7000 into HBK2? The only andventage over AR6xxx I am aware of is (FlightLog). So I believe AR6200 or AR6250 (not sure which1 better, I believe AR6200, please point me if I am wrong) is enough for this heli and you keep all the features such as ModelMatch, ServoSync and SmartSafe.

Summing up all the above I am sure I will go for standard DX7 with AR6200.

Please recommend me the tail servo.

I got my DX7 for $150US brand new delivered to my door.... I use mine with the AR6100 in my T500/T450/HDX300/Blade400. I just like that little Xmitter

After your post, I wonder if:
- the lack of the SevroSync, SmartSafe, etc not affect the flaying quality?
- or do they make only a small difference and aren't worth having them?

I bought the SE, but there are some omissions that are simply braindead.
Or is there a way to set up a throttle cut switch that works in hold mode? I use a mix "throttle to throttle" with -100 %, but it does -not- work in hold mode.

I'm not sure what you mean "the lack of the SevroSync, SmartSafe,"
The AR6100/DX7 uses both of these. Heck, they're even packaged the DX7 with the AR6100 for parkflyers.
One thing I don't care for is the Gyro sensing and switch and how you set the gains. you can't select the gear switch for rate and HH switching. gain is attached to the same switch as throttle hold or autosensing depending of flight mode switch position. you either have to set the gain with the gear endpoints. But then again, at the moment I only use HH, so in reality(a place I don't like to venture too far into...), it's more of a "why the hell did they do it like this", rather than, I need it like this....

I did read the spec of these on Spectrum's web and there was not a word about the mentioned features, so my thought was it hasn't got this. At the moment (until I dont have DX7) I still struggle with the stock radio and esky HH ver B gyro. All the tips (delay gain <50 - rate, >50 HH) does not seems to applay, twigling the delay pot does not seems to bring any effect.
