  • Spektrum DX6i trainer connection

    Does anyone know:
I'm trying to connect a Spektrum DX6i using the 3.5mm audio trainer socket. Does anyone know if I need to use a mono or stereo plug?
Opinion seems to be evenly divided. There is talk of a trainer screen, but I can't find one on my Tx.
Going grey and bald with this one.

Have you got Phoenix? If so, have a look at the plug on the cable and go with the same, thats what I would do I think.

Nope, it's a Reflex. It came with a Futaba lead.

      Thanks Murph

            See what I mean?

Thanks for the response. It looks like a stereo plug.
I have taken the back off the Tx, but still can't see inside the socket. The circuit board which holds the socket (and nothing else) has 4 wires going to it. Weirder and weirder.

            Pass the Grecian 2000 please

                  Ta everyone

I'm beginning to wonder if the problem is with my Tx socket. I've tried both mono and stereo plugs and the reflex dongle won't recognise the Tx at all. If some people are using a mono plug then the system must work using two wires. I think the stereo plug makes the right contacts inside the socket anyway, so acts as a mono plug.
The dongle is fine: it works with my Futaba. Looks like I'll just have to use the Futaba then. No big deal.
Thanks for all the help and piccies
