    The other day while rebuilding and putting my rx back in frame one of the aerials broke off ....

    Is this gonna cause probs and need replacing with a new rx ?

    cause problems? yes, need a new rx? no send it back to horizon hobby with a covering letter saying what happened and they will repair it foc very very quickly (within 3 day turn around in my past experience).

      jamie's right i had a couple of recievers that needed airels replacing horizon did it for free when i sent them back for updating. just put a covering letter asking them to replace the ariels

        I had the same problem with my receiver and I just removed the cover and replaced it myself. If you are good at soldering its an eays job, but if your not confident then send it back to horizon, they were excelent when I sent my transmitter for repair.

          did you use ordanay wire mate?? because i have just lost BOTH my aerial in mid FLIGHT!!!! saw something fall to the ground so brought the heli back in and inspected it, found them both missing (yes they were def on there when i took off) HOW CLOSE

            I had some old wire from a receiver that was the right guage, so I cut the correct length (copied the opposte side) and used that.

            With aerials you have to be carefull that you use the right length and thickness of wire, or it might not perform correctly.
            With 2.4gig its probably nowhere near as important.

            Im not supprised that your heli still flew without any aerials at all
            If it was 35mhz you would have been going home with your heli in a bin bag :P

            Strange that the both came off at the same time.. do you have any enemys who might have snipped them with sidecutters

            Mine came off as the receiver was squeesed through a tight space and a sharp edge caught one of the wires.

                  Its a shame you didnt try a range test without any wires, it would be interesting to see if i worked without any.
                  Mine seemed to work fine with one missing

                    it did work but range was about 15mtrs..luckly i was close 10mtrs or so when they fell off!!
