  • E-sky 0404 tx problem

I brought a Honey Bee FP and it came with a basic 0404 TX 4 channel radio.

I have phoenix and have been having trouble trying to hover with in the sim and in real life for the last six weeks, both in the sim and with the honey bee I can not keep the tail from turning left with out near full rudder movement, I have spent many hours adjusting the gyro including using a spare one, also I have setup the tx in the sim many times but still the problem is there but!!!!!!.

I noticed when calbrating the TX in the sim the rudder is showing random inputs so I setup a dead zone in the sim and it appears that I have been using a faulty tx as straight away I went in to a stable hover no real tail movement. But I can not setup a dead zone with the real honey bee with this tx as when i tried to hover she went straight in to left tail turn and as before

So I would like to buy the DX6I 2.4 but what would I need to buy for the Honey bee as it has a 35mhz 4in1 so I asume I would need to replace this with a 2.4 4in1 thats works with the DX6I or do I have to but all the parts as single items like the rx, speed control, gyro etc

I am new to this be gentle with me, Mike

You can buy a Spektrom receiver and graft that onto the Esky 4-in-1. my blog has details for the Esky Lama, but the principle is the same.

I used an AR6100e. This is a very light receiver, and suitable for the heli I was putting it in. TBH, I don't think it matters which 6 channel you use, so long as it's 6 channel and compatible with the DX6i. I'm sure some of the more experienced guys on here will chime in if I have got it wrong.

Correct me if I am wrong but does the blade cx2 come with this type of rx as they sell it as a spare part for the cx2, I have just brought one off ebay and am waiting for it to arrive. I know it is 2.4 but not sure if it is the older 4in1 or thr newer 3in1 plus rx and maybe I can strip it down when finished with the heli to borrow the part?

If you'd like to try to save some money for a few more days, you could try sending the transmitter back to who you bought it from, as it's clearly not fit for purpose.

If you don't want to do that, I believe a number of people have reported success with cleaning the pots with a good squirt of WD-40.

yes I should send it back to where it was brought thats what I will do tomorrow.

I think I will still get a DX6I as it seems a lot better for flying helis with it being 2.4 etc.

If it is the 35MHz version of the HBFP then yes it is possible to split the 4-in-1 controller and use a Spektrum 6100 or similar - I did that modification on my HBFP when the original receiver started playing up. You have to separate the two halves of the controller and make up a couple of leads to connect the new rx to the half of the controller with the speed controller and gyro. I can send you details and photos if that helps.
