  • Jr Dsx12

Can someone just confirm that the Idleups on the JR DSX12 are on the left hand side of the TX (mode 2 - UK spec)? I have been told 2 conflicting reports thats all so im a bit confused which one to beleive. Also id like to know the same for the DSX9. Pic would even be nice for confirmation if anyone can arrange it

    Cheers

    Lee,

I believe the DSX12 is the same as the PCM10 in that they are on the left hand side.

The DSX9 if like the PCM9x has them on the right hand side..

    Cheers

Someone told me that they were on the left on the DSX9 but when i phoned Fastlad and asked they said it was on the right on the DSX9 but left on the DSX12.
As for a module Mark... i really like the model match feature so thats out the question for me.
I am tempted by the 12FG mind... has it got a backlit screen? Is it quad ballraced like the DSX12?

          Cheers

Er Why wouldnt the model match work with an imported set and the UK module from mcgregors ? module just pumps out at the required UK spec thats the diffrence nothing more ?

12FG no backlight screen no model match but yes gimbals are bearing's not bush's if I recall correctly. Mod for backlight is possible.

Side note if model match is important don't get futaba as it's like 35mhz no model match just Tranny and receiver matched.

Anyway what about that Red and Black thing instead, that'd be my choice

Are you telling me that the DSX12 is not a dedicated 2.4ghz set? Meaning i can have it 35 meg also by changing a module? I thought Model Match didnt work if you were using a module?
12FGs out the window then... i was aware they dodnt have an equal model match system and i wouldnt want to mod something that costs so much money TBH.
That red and black thing is so tempting but i just cant justify it mate. Price is just plain crazy and i cant be assed with importing gear really. Still keeping an open mind though so anything can happen.

              Cheers

The standard DSX-9 has the idle-ups on the right. I've modified mine to put it in the "proper" place - just like I did on my PCM-9. Its easy enough to do, but only if you are very confident at soldering!

I have a feeling that the idle-up is assignable on the 12. I know someone who has one, so I'll ask at the week-end. (Of course, if you're at Charmouth, you can ask him yourself!)

ModelMatch doesn't work with the Spektrum modules. It only works with the dedicated sets. I'm pretty sure that the DSX-12 is a dedicated set - like the DSX-9.

That's not to say that you can't put a module in a standard PCM-12, but it won't make it a DSX-12!

Has that helped, or confused the situation even more?

Steve Roberts should have his down at Charmouth. I'm sure he'll be delighted to show it to anyone interested.......

                  Hi lee
Yes the FM switch is on the RHS on the dsx9
Not sure about the dsx12 as I haven't seen one yet,at the price it is I don't think I will see many.
I beleive you can swap the switch over on the dsx9, but you have to extend the wires,BTH it's a load of messing about.
I prefer the FM switch on the LHS like my spare dx7.
I think I will have to learn to adapt to it
Also I have assigned the TH to the rudd dual rate switch on the LHS at the front as it'S at the back
                  Hope this helps m8e
                  Cheers

ah explains that bit I thought the dsx12 was a module unit like the 12fg

if your going to buy a dsx12 and not the red and black thing... which one costs more

for me it'd be the red and black thingy though even if it was cheaper

I know my 12 isn't a module unit, it just has a plastic cover where the module should go,

Do you mean this black and red thing

                          Cheers Daren
