  • JR DSX9 gimbals

Hi, anyone know if the gimbals on the JR DSX9 (MacGregor in UK) stick units come fully ballraced?

The DX7 as we know does not and I prefer the feel of the gimbals when the ball races have been installed replacing the bushes.

    Cheers

No, they are bushes. You can fit bearings, although it is not a trivial task for most

I am sure i have heard that you can't replace all bushings with bearings on the DSX9 as you can DX7.
            Cheers

Here you go Dashik from Helifreak.

Nope, the X9303 don't have bearings but also has a different construction so changing them out will be harder. I won't be changing them out anytime soon as it looks a lot more involve than the DX7. Also I don't think changing them out to bearings on the X9303 will make that much of a different. It use a better quality pot. than the DX7 but also use the pot. as one of the bearing joint. There's also a metal shaft that ride on the bronze bushing with grease. This will differently last a lot longer than the plastic on bronze bushing on the DX7.

Have a play with a dsx9 if you can the gimbals are buttery smooth and IMO have always felt better than futaba sticks

Funny how we percieve things differently. Compared to the high end Futabas I was not impressed with the DSX9 Gimbals at all, I felt them very clonky. I though the DX7 was better...but thats possibly the tension they were set to. I think the best way is to have a play with others Tx's and see what you like
