  • Something that's very worrying.!!!

Was up the field flying today with the lads when Adam arrived with his new Raptor 90 to show us and give it a looking over.

We all fly Spektrum 2.4ghz at our place eliminating any chance of interferance or being shot down.

Adam has a Futaba FF9 with the Spektrum module fitted which works perfectly we though until today.

His Raptor 50 and Raptor 90 have both obviously been setup on different channels on his TX but today saw us all gasp for breath with what happened next.

Both his Raptor 50 and 90 were operating on the same TX channel when both models were switched on.

Yes swash/tail/throttle everything moving in tandem.

Now someone put me straight here, I was led to believe this was impossible to acheave using the DSM2 technology.

We Re-binded both helis to there respective channels but the same again, Power up both helis and yes they were working in tandem.

Richard H got some video on his phone of this event happening but I am at a loss to how this can happen.

Could it be a faulty module or what.???

    Any ideas guy's.

That sounds a bit dodgu Tim to say the least, I am not sure I would be comfortable with that. I will try it tomorrow with a couple of models I own myself. I guess it is not often that we have two models on at the same time, we may all be surprised!!

with DSM2 when you bind, it's binding the model to the specific tx. So although you got two models working in tandem it could only happen with models bound to that tx. It shouldn't be possible but there is no danger, unless Adam plans on flying two models at once with one tx

Have certainly tried here tonight Rob and none of my helis react the same using my DSX9

        Not even the slightest glitch.

This shouldnt really happen using a Spektrum module and Rx's due to the model match feature. However, Futaba doesn't have model match therefore any model will receive and operate from another models settings i.e Model 1 in Tx will control model 2. (Ask me how I know!!!)

I'm not sure if the model match function works on Futaba using Specky gear. I'd suggest not based on this.

              My thoughts exactly.

Quite disturbing when we "ALL" witnessed this together.

I got Richard to video it because I was sure no-one would believe us.

Model match does NOT work with the modules only the proper Tx`s

If you think about it,how does the module know what model memory the TX is set to,stand alone Spektrum Tx`s dont have this issue as its one unit.

Sorry guys but using a module in a 35mhz tx doesn't include the model match technology, As said earlier the receivers will only respond to that tx not what model the tx is on,
You could have any number of models bound to that tx if you turned them all on together they would all respond to inputs at the same time.
                  Cheers Daren

I can confirm this is the case as I saw it with my own 2 eyes today too.
A fellow club member has a futaba unit with a spekky module and was controlling the wrong model. Luckily he realised this before he took off.
