  • Spektrum Ar7100 & regulators

    Hi,

I bought myself a DX7SE after righting my heli and engine off due to a TX/RX fault.

Problem is I run 7.4 lipos using a fromeco reg to adjust the voltage. On my new receiver is an inbuilt reg plus a permanent infeed for power. The fromeco uses the gyro rudder & gain cables to supply the receiver with the preset volts. Can these be used together, I can't for the life of me work out how to do it!?

    Any help appreciated

    Cheers Darryl

can you not just use a single 6v (or whatever it uses) output in to the power input cable? then let the inbuilt reg drop it for the tail and gyro etc.

that would mean scraping my lipos, plus i use very high draw servos which need lipo power to perform properly

      thanks 4 the ans

so just feed the 7.4v output from the fromeco in to the rx via the power cable, then use the inbuilt reg? i dont see how thats any different to what your already doing? other than not feeding a separate input in to it for the rudder etc as thats now handled by the rx reg.

the fromeco feeds power into normal receivers through the cables which go into the gyro positions(gear & rudder), then the gyro is plugged into gear and rudder on the regulator itself. As the spektrum regulates down the voltage to 5.2v to feed the gyro from these 2 plugs i can't do that.

            Let me try to help!

On the right hand side of the receiver is the output for the cyclic servos this is unregulated so whatever comes out of your battery goes straight to your servos,

On the left is Rudder,Gear and Aux2 this is regulated to 5.2volts and would feed your gyro and gain lead.
            Cheers Daren

still doesn't really help with my problem though as the fromeco isn't a straight through like it would need to be satisfy the ar7100. Think I'm going to have to sell the fromeco and look at the spektrum inline reg

i've sent Andy from Real Raptors where i bought the reg an email, hopefully he will tell me if it can be done and how to do it.

                  Cheers

Spoke to real raptors, and the outcome was that the AR7100 and fromeco are not compatible together, so ordered the VR6010 reg from spektrum instead...

Cheers Andy @ real raptors for all the help
