  • Dx7 Prices!!!

I have been looking to change over to 2.4 for sometime and with a new heli on the horizon it might be a good time?!
Although a fixed wing flyer !!!!! for a longtime and still at the hovering stage of helis im still not sure which make, most on this forum have gone with Spektrum!!
I have been looking at prices and have been offered a combo deal of £240 on a DX7 maybe able to get a little more off...anyone know of any cheaper deals etc???
Please let me know of details etc and thourghts on make etc

    Thanks

i have been looking as well.Al's hobbies do the dx7 and ar7000 reciever for £240 without servo'.If you are getting the combo kit with 4 ds821 that is not a bad price....are there any more? The futaba ff7 2.4ghz radio and seven channel receiver is £200 without servo' from the same place.Futaba receivers are more expensive than Spektrum though so something else to think about if you have a few models

theres lots of pros and cons to each system.. me i like the futaba as always been futaba .. and if you used to a FF7 already theres not alot of diff in programming from 35mhz to the 2.4ghz one

I think you have pretty much missed the boat comparatively speaking to 3 months back. The UK shops have pretty much exhausted there pre price increase stock, and now have to pass the price rises on to the customer.

Approx price rises since is about 30% for most imported electronics

If you are looking at the DX7 be aware that the latest DX7SE version does not have a buddy box option preventing its use on a flight Sim.

The DS821's are pretty hopeless TBH..fine for a sports plank but not recommended for 50 class Helis so the extra outlay is a bit of a waste for most folk.

I paid £240 for TX, RX + 4 servos combo - this was before the price hike so if you can still get it for that or a little less then I woudl say go for it!

I bought mine too just before the post Christmas price rises. I paid £185 at Als for the same dx7 and AR7000 combo (with internet discount) so in real terms it's over a £50 increase As stated I think you'd be hard pushed to do that now.

Even though I've flown Futaba for 10 years previously, I chose the Spektrum for the receiver choices and prices. That's not to say it's perfect because it's not (the programming is not as intuitive IMO) but it does do the job ok and the cheaper rx's are in the region of £35.
