Fixed, and no double-secret menus were required.

Was the bleedin pitch trim all along - make sure you inhibit it and for me, I've also inhibited the hov pit and hov thro buttons as well by setting the trim step to zero.

A big Thank You for all your help and guidance in demonstrating the errors of my foolish ways (did someone say operator error?), and apologies for ever doubting JR!

Glad you got it sorted and for admitting your error.
We all make them from time to time. Perhaps an entry here to add to the collection might be in order?

        • Power the set on while keeping ENT button on front panel pressed.
        • Rotate roller activator until Trim Step is highlighted.
        • Press roller activator on Trim Step, rotate to AILE.
        • Switch AILE D/R down, press roller activator, switch AILE D/R up, press roller activator.
        • Repeat Step 6 four more times and on the 5th (total) time access should be granted to the Service Menu.
Here is a list of things you can do - should be in order as you scroll through each item. This is not a complete list, and there are likely lots of other things that can be done.
        • From here, SW test allows you to test each switch and microswitch.
        • The next menu item is Hard. Con. By rotating the selector bar it becomes obvious what can be changed by soft selection. Where the highlighter does not move it indicates that this is a hard connection on the PCB, but in conjunction with the table this can be modified accordingly.
        • Next item is Stick Neutral. Center all sticks and side trimmers, press CLR followed by STO. This then stores all the centers for the sticks.
        • Next is Stick Ga. Moving all sticks and side trimmers to max & min positions finalizes the stick calibration.
        • Moving the selector across to the right allows for setting front panel voltage, and at what voltage the alarm will activate for low battery.
There are various ways to exit, and each one has a different effect. Total reset of system and loss of models stored, reset of the config data only. For straight calibration purposes, rotate back to EXIT and press the button next to : Reset start (No Initialized)
        Hello,

I do have a problem with a asian bought DSX9. I was able to bind it once, but never after. Neither to the same rx or new rx. The rx are ok, since I also have a DX7 to check with.

Any idea if I can do a full reset and how to do it. Better to try that than throw the transmitter :-(

I am not able to get into the servicemeny as you have described. Any suggestions?

        Thanks

Hovering pitch and throttle trim. Pointless and confusing functionality. Often these only work in Normal flight mode making them even more useless and confusing!

In order to meet the legal requirements for 2.4Ghz model control in Japan spektrum had to resort to channel hopping protocol (I reckon Futaba influencing the authorities). The result is there are four spectrum standards, DSM1 (as per the first DX6), DSM2 (as per DX7, DX6i, DX5 and DSX9), the faster high res DX7SE protocol, and the channel hopping Japanese spektrum. The channel hopping Japanese spectrum needs it own specific channel hopping receiver.

...so I hope you haven't bought a DX7 from Japan!

Meanwhile I'm sure folks will jump in and tell you that you need your spektrum tx to have UK approved power rating to be legal and bmfa approved - but fear not, so far Horizon UK have been willing to re-set imported tx's for those who have fallen into that trap.
