I will stick with my PCM9XII and Speccy module that seems to work ok for me. I am sure the other retailers will be able to give some discount on those RRPs but Macgregor are mad if they think they will sell many at those prices!! Having said that there are those who will have the cash to buy the best???!!!

        Totally agree Mike.

You can't get away from price increases in these down trodden times but that is certainly taking the **** big time.

To think you could buy a top of the range 90 size Avant Aurora and a DX7 for the price of that TX alone.

I honestly thought I had jumped the gun buying mine when they first come out at £400 but glad I did now.

          Hold on a minute.

The JR stuff is known to be expensive I agree, but you'll always find the shops selling it significantly cheaper than the prices quoted on MacGregor's website. After all, you don't actually buy the gear direct from MacGregor do you? And, the prices quoted will be the full set prices with Rx, servos, charger etc and there are many variants of the package below that - i.e. Tx only, Tx and Rx only, Tx and charger only, Tx and servos only etc etc.

There has undoubtedly been a price rise recently to the consumer due to the value of the pound, and this is as much as 30%, but I don't think you'll actually pay as much as is quoted in the linked McG's page.

i think it's quite simple. the exchange rate changed 70% so add 70% to whatever you local shop or internet shop charges now....thats your new street price.

            cheers

              Thats the RRP without Servo's!

TBH I feel really sorry for Macman as he's a nice bloke, I would guess he has to List RRP's as part of the Franchise terms for distributing JR

I thought the DSX9 was overpriced when it came out so this makes a mockery of that thread we started

Looks like if I ever decide to change my PCM9X2 and module to a full 2.4Ghz set it will be to the dark side now. Pity I can't afford to do it now as it would only mean replacing 2 Rx's Then there is still the 35Mhz stuff though I suppose

barney, macman is no longer working for macgregor from what i understand. left a few months ago.

also not many people know this but he doesn't fly and has no interest in doing so. he only goes on forums to help people out. he's a top man and a big loss to MCG if he did indeed leave.

                  cheers

He was sorting out a problem on RCMF just the other day, so I guess he hasn't left.

The rrp is not what the shops are selling for.

Current Inwoods price is around the £1400.00 mark for the DSX12 so retailers are offering deals on the radios. Agreed the DSX9 is way over what it should be even with discount! but the DSX12 I think is about right if you look at the cost of it's equiv radios when they were released.

                    Just my 2p's worth.

only this week i was after a DSX9, but after finding out the new prices, no chance im afraid. Its not £1000 worth of radio by a long shot....

Speaking to my LHS, rumour has it once they sell their current stock they will not be ordering any more for stock only to order as there are far better radios out there for less money...

...but McGregor buy in a shorter time span than Ripmax so the possibility is that the Footaba stuff will escalate at a similar rate once they have to buy new stock...we will see

Hmmm I have been pondering the switch to a 10c for a while, this just makes the decision easier I think. Problem I have at the moment is the number of recievers I will have to replace makes it not a go'er at the moment. Still looks like there is a good market for used ones and the DX7 would sell I am sure
