  • DX7 or FF7

Ok, cutting a long story short, I'm a newbie with a Buzz Fly SE. Tried to fly it for the first time straight out of the box and realised that it was 'never going to happen'.... have since bought Phoenix and can competently hover the co-ax helis (wow!!! I hear you cry!) Am desperately trying to fly the CP helis and am having great fun on the sim, but don't want to get 'too used' the Buzz Fly Tx that was supplied with my heli. Its fine for the sim, and the real Buzz Fly, but I know I will eventually want a proper tx...

    so....

    DX7 or FF7 ???

I have the £250 budget to hand (ish!!!) but want to get a good deal on either tx. In short, I have no requirement for servos at this stage or even a rx, just the tx will do for the sim. This way, I can get used to the sticks over the next few (or many) months and then bind it to a rx, servos and a new heli.

    Any thoughts people?

I would look for a oldish 2nd hand TX for just the Sim meantime...loads of 35mhz stuff being sold off which would be ideal..Suggest you stick up a post with Sim Radio required in the Title. There will be a few about I'm sure.

      cheers Brian

Heard good stuff about the 7 Channel Futaba. Can anyone clarify this for me..... is the FF7, F7 and the 7cap actually the SAME tx? I am a little confused about the title of the tx. I have heard it is 2.4, and will be perfect for heli flying, and for a newbie like me, I can grow into it alledgedly...

                So, the same tx?

the 7cap 2.4ghz is the latest in the FF7 family if you like there diffrent over time software upgrade and layout's. not the same trannys even the 7cap 35mhz does not have all the 7cap 2.4ghz features

But 7cap 2.4ghz is the latest in the family a good solid tranny

Best to buy above your current needs so you grow into it is a good idea

When I am looking througth the small ads and the rc model websites, exactly what should I be looking for regarding the 7cap. Does it have a model number or code etc, or is it simply known as the 7cap?

                    appreciate all your comments matey

The 7CAP and 7CHP are the 35MHz designations. For the 2.4GHz tx it is just called the 7C.

But if the 7CAP or 7CHP also applies to the 2.4GHz tx then you want the 7CHP. This is the helicopter version as opposed to the 7CAP for the Acro, aircraft version. Although either does both it is what it does as a default and the position of the switches.
