FASST Module to fit a JR Tx inc 9303/9X/9X2/10S/10SX

Not sure if you will see any improvement in Latency but gives you the 2.4 meg option. Also looks to be 12 ch from the piccy.

Got one here we have been looking at.
Doesn't come with any instructions which is really handy.

    It is 12 channel.
There is a switch marked G and F, that we have no idea what it does.

Can't really understand putting Futaba 2.4 in a JR, especially when you consider the range of receivers Spektrum do and the price difference.

I can understand putting Spektrum in Futaba, but not the other way round
    Align T-Rex 600n Pro (Now with 3GX)
    Align T-Rex 500CF(Gone)
    Align T-Rex 450 Pro
T-REX 250, had it since crimbo(bloody tail) want to smash it with a hammer
    T-Rex 700......STUNNING (Thirsty) (Now with 3GX)

No plank flyers were hurt whilst making this post

      Hi Barney

Yes certainly neater than the Spektrum modules and of course it's FFAST so not so fussy as Spektrum when it comes to voltage drops etc.
If only Futaba would hurry up and make a bigger range of 2.4G receivers, there's a real need for small 6 channel ones.

      Cheers
      Bob

I would think it means "general and France" as France is only allowed some tiny power output.

fasst rocks no doubt about it.

however why you would want to stick the better transmission in a radio with inferior software im not sure...

10c and 12fg are excellent and now great value compared to the cost of the JR stuff!

sure you pay a little more for the rx's but its worth it for the reliability and ease of installation.

My thoughts were If youve already got a 9X11/10X or similiar and want to stay with JR but go 2.4Gig Its a viable option cost wise, especially now the prices JR are looking for the DSX9 12X 2.4

A lot of people wont entertain a SpeKtrum Module Conversion as the Aerial is flapping around out back and is channel limiting from memory to 8?.

The FASST Conversion has no dangly bits from the photo and is a fully integrated module + is 12ch capable. I admit to being a X-dresser over the years but prefer the Futaba overall.

I would rather have a SpeKtrum DX7 (I have one actually) although short of functions does an almost comparitive job to the DSX9 as theres nothing outstanding in the DSX9 programming + the DX7 you can convert to Quad bearing Gimbals where you are stuck with 2 each side on the 9.

I agree Ade, DSX9/12FG is a no brainer for similiar money..(not seen a 10C so cant comment) The Gimbals/Swash Menus are excellent.

From the Futaba USA Website concerning after market modules..DOH!
BUT off course it only works one way!

MMMm..Wonder what SpeKtrum/JR make of Futabas offering

I can see it now at the next BMFA board meeting...Foooootaba members sit this side..JR/SpeKtrum over there.

There are many aftermarket items that fit specific needs and are terrific products to use. Unfortunately, the use of a non-stock TX module in Futaba modular radios is not one of these circumstances.
Based upon FCC regulation 95.645(b), and the advice of our lawyers and the AMA who have analyzed and discussed this issue with the FCC, we must indicate that we believe that any non-Futaba module to be against FCC regulation to use in a Futaba transmitter.
As such, we cannot support this type of use in any manner or we would be violating FCC regulation as well. Therefore we cannot service a radio which is using any after-market Tx module, and its use voids the radio's warranty. Please also note that making modifications to your radio system may void your insurance coverage, so we strongly recommend against doing so.

Just as well most of us live in the UK then, where the FCC doesn't have much power

Lets just hope that JR say the same so anyone fitting FARCE modules to quality radios are in the same situation

if i didnt have the FG and was going to convert the 9x2 to 2.4 it would be one of these.

sure spektrum offer a bigger range of rx's at lower price but the reliability of spektrum stuff is still lower than that of fasst.

at the end of the day you get what you pay for.
