  • Binding a DX6i

I've just bought a DX6i and want to bind it to the AR6200 supplied with it but I don't have a wiring harness as shown in the manual.
Can I complete the process another way or do I need to impose on someone with a full harness?
    Any assistance would be appreciated

    Before you ask:

    About 2 miles
    Over £500
    Very difficult
    Over 80mph
NO, you can't have a go

        Binding a DX6i

        Thanks Boggy and Sqwidge.
I gather I just connect the ESC to the throttle channel and the bind plug to the battery connector and hopefully bingo!! all done. Turn off and remove of course
Next question then....which way round do the servo/esc plugs fit? Nothing is marked on the rx to indicate polarity. I'd hate to see that magic smoke escape before I even get to try to fly it.
ESC wiring is black/red/white, Servo is Brown/red/orange and
gyro is black/red/white with orange signal wire.

I'm assuming black or brown is -ve, red is +ve and white/orange is a signal.

        Again, any assistance appreciated

You are correct in your assumptions re the binding and the colour coding system.
Looks like your gonna get on well.

dude make sure all white/yellow wires face the front of the rx, or nearest the sticker if you like, i have the same receiver as you but if you get it wrong you wont burn anything it just wont work

Thanks again Sqwidge, info much appreciated.
If you actually think about it, Red +ve wire is in the middle of the connector so reversing it would swap -ve and signal wire, not +ve and -ve and hence no magic smoke.
Just need to get it fitted into the heli now and then have fun working out the programming etc.

Thanks also to all others for their help

Sounds like the swash mix is wrong. Reverse the elevator in the reverse sw. Do not reverse the elevator in the swash mix menu if it is functioning correctly when using the right stick.

I had to edit the post since I got them round the wrong way.
Sorry guys. Should be right now.
