  • Dangling in the breeze

This might seem a daft question but..........

I have a 2.4Ghz rx that I am going use on my new Beam E4 :-)

Ok, the two wires that come out the Rx. is it ok for these two to dangle in the breeze from the back or is it ok to coil them around the boom brace ?

I suspect I shouldnt coil them up but would like to keep it tidy.

i assume your talking futaba fasst?

in which case the last inch of the wire is the actual aerial. the manual makes quite a big thing of the these ends sitting at 90deg to each other and away from carbon/metallic parts to guarentee no lockouts. How important it is i dont know but if you can do as per the manual then i would.

I'd go for the dangle, dont wind them round carbon or metal

        cheers chaps.

Yes,sorry FASST. I read the 90 degree blurb, its going to be hard keeping it away from carbon as the whole thing is carbon !!

do you recon this little set up would be ok with the ends poked through this hole. keeps it neat. Kinda hard to keep at around 90 deg without taping it or somert.

are you on 2.4 jiber ? hows yours done on your Beam ?

Mine are never 90 degrees and I've never lost range at all plane or helicopter

you'll be fine small heli you'll not be flying it to far away so I wouldn't worry

Yep, spectrum 2.4, heres how mine is, similar to you... have you thought about using a bit of fue tube to keep the antenna in the locations you want?

Dont forget to range check, but these heli's are of the size where I wouldnt expect them to be more than 50m away or so.
