  • Futaba 2.4 Aerial - Raydiowarm Question

I want to try out the Raydiowarm I bought a year ago & have never used

The aerial of my Futaba 2.4 Tx goes through the grommet OK, but to have the Tx close enough to me to be comfortable the aerial only just sticks out of the grommet hole and is more or less horizontal, only slightly pointing upwards.

Now, the heli is never very far from me so ??? does the aerial orientation really matter???

    Cheers

The Radio waves from the antenna radiate out of the sides of it so I understand .. This is why ya have the antenna at 90 degrees to the Tx ... Can't see a problem tho as it says to have the Rx antenna in a certain position as well but one of my planes has the antenna at 180 degrees and never had n e issues with it .. Power down and do a range check from all sides and see if ya not sure

no reason the poke the aerial out of the mitt, just fold it sideways in the mitt.

Sideways & range check it is then

Just thinking back to last week & how cold it was. The only problems were my bloody fingers & I kept thinking "why buy a Raydiowarm & not use it??"

So, tomorrow I'll have some handwarmers the kids bought me for Christmas, a Raydiowarm & a flask of coffee. (Edit - flask with some coffee in & added ingredients)

Lotta kit you've got to stow in the winter

        Cheers

Damn, wish I'd thought of that, it's stopped me using mine because the aerial wouldn't go through the grommet, ddoohhhh!!
