  • outrage 12fg battery

    Hi guys,

the standard 12fg battery is a 1700mah 6 cell nimh. after some measuring I found that the 2500mah 2s outrage reciever battery fits perfectly after cutting off the 2 unused connections from the battery.

can the internal regulator cope ok though? if its linear it will be getting pretty warm with a fully charged lipo....

the voltage range of the 6cell nimh is almost exactly the same as a 2s lipo.

      nimh is 6-9v
      lipo is 6-8.4v

      So no worries there.

As long as they have them in stock, then that's ace - worth giving them a call before ordering

My Outrage lipo is doing fine in my DX7 but I am a little worried about the cold weather effecting it. Other than that a good buy (cheaper than the alternatives by a good few quid). Just be carefull with the pins on the balance lead as they are not that secure in the plastic body - add a heat shrink hood and all is OK

I believe the pizza box version of the 12FG uses a 2S lithium pack by default. Odd they didn't standardise.

Tried to find a UK link but despite Ripmax listing it as being stocked I can find no info this side of the channel.

Ade, be warned, suggest you tape the TX door closed

The originial battery clips in situ. With the lipo I'm using in the 12FG it is not retained by the battery clip and is only a little jolt away from ejecting itself out of the back of the Tx..the door clip is not very good.

good thinking... your right the door isnt very secure.

however theres plenty of depth so sticky velcro on the battery and inside the case should work. I will have a look when i get the battery for the fg. the battery in the sting is snugly fitted in the sting (big yellow thing thomas has been taking pictures of)

the 12fg software is far superior to the 10c software which is of similar level to my 9x2.

i didnt just want 2.4 i wanted a tx upgrade which the 10c wouldnt have been much of even tho it would have addressed most of my complaints on the 9x2.

futaba have released firmware updates which shows they are still doing things to it and realised this battery fitted in it.

lastly, thanks to Blink Helicopters the money became a non-issue. be stupid not to really!
