Can I use it for heli (T-rex 500)?

What is the difference between heli and airplane version?

Should be able to. You set it for Airplane/Heli operation in the menu's. Not yet seen a DX7 that is specific to either Heli or Airplane.

I notice from the manual that the labels on the gear, aux 2, hover pitch and hover throttle controls are different. There's also a picture of a heli on my tx but a picture of an aeroplane on the DX7 i nthe manual. My guess, and it is a guess, is that the radio is the same but you buy one labelled-up for your prime use: heli or plane. I plan to use it for both, that's for sure!

Basically the same Transmitter... main diffrences apart from some of the obvious labels are the TX will default to an Airplane model, and you will also find that the throttle/collective stick will have a ratchet on. 2 things that i know of anyways. And also 2 things that are very easy to sort out. You can slacken the ratchet right off or remove it. The model default shouldnt really matter as its easy enough to just change as your setting up a particular model. If it does bug you then i know getting into the service menu then theres an option somewhere to get the TX to default to Heli instead. Just do a search for DX7 service menu over the darkside. I think theres plenty info on RR,HF and RCG's about it.
