I had a (suspected) brownout that slammed my Raptor into the ground. But I can't simply blame it on the Futaba Rx, when the battery was the main cause.

BUT: When buying Futaba, check the latency of your EXACT model (Tx and Rx matters). Some are notoriously bad.
Search for "JKos" and "latency", google should find it.

A friend tested this for me and on the 7ch and 12ch rx's the digi servo actually stopped working before the receiver gave in?

The 12FG is ace but could do with a ''Futaba for dummies'' the radio is complicated and the manual is next to useless.

Agree, but it can do almost everything if you put several hours of your life into it!

I seen a plane go in using 2.4 fasst .. TBH it was because his battery was old and knacked lol....His servos prolly stopped before the Rx did ... Been on fasst since the 7 was released and not had one issue with it at all .. Does what it says on the box .. Rx's are spot on as well and well made ....

I never found a satisfying explanation.
I flipped into idle-up, and at the same instant the heli went down with a lot of negative pitch. Maybe the 9452 on pitch went crazy, don't know.
When I examined the heli immediately afterwards, all servos were working as expected.
Anyway, I blamed it on the Raptor and got a T-Rex

Out of interest, grab a palm sander and whack the electronics one at a time on it and see if it fails - this'll highlight any dry / weak joints which 'could' fail in flight...

Just had to send my 12FG for repair as the left rudder pot was not sending the correct position info! Three crashes in three weeks and I couldn't work out why the heli was suddenly going pyro on me. I thought it was a gyro problem at first but then it occured on different models and on checking the servo monitor funtion the bar graph was up and down like zebedee on speed.
So no tranny for a while and given that people have posted on the speed of Ripmax service it could be a while!

Thats a bit worrying as I also have a 12FG. How long have you had it before this happened? Has it had a lot of use? I think I'll check my servo monitor screen regulary from now on!

I had a problem with 12fg cyclic stick and sent in for repair. After few Q:&A they repaired it free no problems. Nice one Ripmax

                            Now why it broke(best guess)....
friends son came round and hes just a bit to hyper!! only 4 1/2. So to give a bit of a break come one Sim!! First mistake. OK i held top of sticks with thumbs and his little thumbs/finger mid to lower part of stick. And fighting to fly while hes trying to crash!! days later came to gaui elevator only only half the movement...f~~~ Checked in TX, yup not working.

Now while extreme example perhaps our gentle stick movement ie stick banging plays apart

Had it 12 months and with the weather and other things I've been lucky to fly every 2 weeks. It's not been abused and it's always cased, even at the field between flights.
