OK tonight hasn't been a crowning glory with the spirit of the forum, and Mark & I have spoken off forum and basically many crossed wires were firing in different directions, and the message got somewhat fazed out of control.

That I'm pleased to say has been corrected.

In regard to the DX6i mine has a fault, and through practice even if it has disastrous consequences with a machine crash often works out for the greater good, even if it does pee you off a tad.

99.9% of the time there's never a fault with the unit, however a little care when in damp conditions is a good thing for any Controller, so careful storage of the TX while not in use would be good practice period, even if as I've said you zip the TX inside your coat ( with a neck strap) so to keep the harsh conditions off any Controller.

It's been a bitch of a winter this year and none of these devises are water tight, so if anything good has come out of this is take special care with any electrical devise IE the TX when not in use and the weather conditions are **** poor.

        Yep I'm sorry too.

Reading back through my posts I seem to be suggesting I want to sell my DX6i which I don't so sorry for the misunderstanding. I thought the smiley was enough to show a joke but again the typed word fails again.

Not usually like me to type drivel

nice one guys! I knew there was something getting mixed up. Only thing id like to add is safety is always paramount (which i know you guys already know). This is even if it means loosing faith in a product of some sort. As an example ive just lost faith in the 9254 so probably wont purchase one again to be honest. This is for the safety not only of my models but also me. My piloting skills arnt good enough to put one down safely when the tail goes so its 8900G;s or 251's for me from now on as a double pre-caution. Others may have not had any problems with them but when you get 2 that fail on ya in exactly the same unusual way its enough to give me the hint.

          Cheers

I've only had my DX6i for a few months and it's been fine really. It was bought from troubledpetey and is aged around 13-14 months.

yes, broken antennas and a smoked DX6. They refused to ship spares, sending it in didn't make sense moneywise.

Solution for the antenna problem: pictures below (that's a piece of tail boom on the Tx, and you'd better take it off before turning on the power).

I witnessed one lockout on a DX 7, when a friend totaled his acromaster. It was very high when it happened, but control didn't return until he power-cycled the Tx (with the plane in a tree).

My dx6i went back on friday, had a problem with the rudder channel, in 'monitor' the rudder was offset to the left about 10-15% of maximum throw without any stick input and it occassionally flicked back to centre now and again.

                      • Not had a Spektrum problem until very recently...
                        Two issues, both with AR6200s

                        1. Switch TX and RX on - all good. Switch TX off, rx doesn't go into failsafe and servos go off (as if disconnecting the battery). Found out on ground luckily.

                        2. Had a couple of lock outs on a foamie wing which caused the inevitible crash to happen. Luckily, its a foamie and bounced

Both receivers are going back this week for investigation / repair.
                        Cheers, Lee.

                          • Did anybody else who had poblems with a DX6i get sent a free AR6100 receiver as an appology?

I got a one about a month ago, to begin with I thought HH had made a mistake but then I read the included note that said it was to applogise for the DX6i problems.
I was pleased with the fast service I received anyway, but getting the receiver was a nice extra bonus.

Hopefully spectrum have learnt from the problems with the DX6i and they wont have to recall anything again.
If the service from HH was poor then I wouldnt ever buy spectrum again, but due to the good service I will definatley buy a spectrum in the future.
Since its repair all my spectrum kit has worked very well (not that ive done alot of flying recently)

I got a AR6100 turn up a couple of weeks ago, with the same letter. I've posted a few times on here about HH going further than they need in helping me. That's why when I wanted a new Tx, I bought a Spektrum.
