  • DX6i/AR6200 bind issues

    Hi all.

Had one of the guys from the forums pop over to help me set up my trex 500, but we had some major problems getting the rx to bind to the tx. We tried for over an hour, and managed to get the thing to bind maybe 3 times. When we took the bind plug out, and powered up the rx again, the bind was gone. We tried and tried but it just wouldnt keep its bind, and getting it to bind in the first place was a pain. Usually leaving it off for a few minutes made it happy and would bind again, but as i say, it didnt stay this way. Other times the light on the main reciever would just go out completely while the sattelite kept blinking away quickly. Anyone have some idea's? Thanks a lot

Sounds like you may have a faulty receiver?
Do you have another receiver you can try binding to (like your mates...) to rule out the problem being with your Tx?

    Cheers,

I think these guys were pulling there hair out by the end of the night, I tried too help giving step by step instructions as to how I binded my 450 & 500, but it wouldn't hold.

        I'd also say it's a hardware fault.

Do let us know how it goes after contacting HH, best of luck.

I've got a problem with my dx6i binding to a 6200. If I switch the tx on first the rx ffashes. If I turn on the rx first then there is no problem

Strange, both of my AR6200's boot up the same, as did my old AR6000 with the DX6.

Do you use Deans connectors? I find it difficult to connect them cleanly and I get a few sparks. The rx will start when the tx is on,but not very often. I might fit a switch or have a single inline connector in series with the battery positive. I didnt have a problem with power pole connectors on a plane with an AXI 2820/10.

Yes indeed, you have to mate the deans square on and keep them connected while you fish to dock them securely.

Your find it's something you get used too, I have a knack doing it, don't ask how, but you will find it becomes easier the more you connect them.

However if you find it continues to be troublesome make a lead with deans either end, with an "on/off" switch in the center, (as you mentioned) so you can have a clean batt start up each time, but I think you'll be fine after a little experience.

I wouldn't advise putting a switch in the main power leads! There's a lot of current going through there!
If you must fit a switch (there's really no need to), put it on the ESC lead to the receiver.

Yes, my big speed controller for my AXI 2820/10 has a switch. I'm not convinced that the motor couldn't start up with power to the esc but no power to the rx. I think the problem will go away when I'm used to Deans connectors as Wayne said. The battery current is under 15 amps and that's when the motor's flat out. A small switch on the esc lead will be much easier thanks. The leads to the motor look like they'd struggle with 5 amps.
