  • Spektrum 7100R?

For those that have fitted these how are they working for you?

Many teething problems or fit and forget?

On reflection I'm changing my mind as the Reg is only 2A. Think I'll either use an Align 2 in 1 or my Reactor X.

I pointed the fact that it was only 2A out to fellow club members and was told that if running the cyclics at VBUS then the 2Amp limit was bypassed on the cyclic and only applied to Rx and tail/gyro.

I found that my ReactorX developed a fracture in the solder and when I posted it on here another member also found that his was fractured in exactly the same place.
I'll see if I can dig up the post
      Here
A lot of people slate the Align but many are using it faultlessly.
I have recently put an ELYq in my 700 to replace the REACTORX and so far so good.

Using one on my 700 Phil with no problems at all.

The Revmax is working spot on with no over running coming out of tail slides/loops etc.

Using the JR9815's cyclic servos direct from the 8v connectors with the tail and throttle from the regulated supply.

        Fit and forget.

I have fitted one to my Trex 700 and couldn't get the limiter to work. The rx is seeing the magnet but it won't take over comand of the throttle in limiting mode. Needless to say I have a revlock on it now. Rx works fine on it though.

          Cheers
          Cheers Matt

Problem for me is my servos won't do bus voltage as far as I know the 6.0v they are getting now is more than design spec

I saw your Reactor X thread but I'd bought mine a week or so previously

Main reason for going for the 7100R is to declutter the Knight...

I've read of a few problems with the governor but not too many and yours seems to be working fine

This is one of my worries as the idea as above is to lose the ATG/2 in 1 and save some spaghetti as well

Does anyone know if the AR7000R will function without the supplied soft switch??

Just got one from the well known auction site- looks sound and almost new, but no switch- have emailed the seller to see if he can send it on to me,, but I want to test it now !!!

Really simple to make one if needed.

Watch Finless Bobs videos, I'm sure they will function without the switch.

The only reason I posted was because on page 2 of the manual it states:
"The AR7100/AR7100R uses a specifically designed switch. Conventionally wired switches are not compatible with the AR7100"

Problem solved!! Smoothbound, you hit it on the head there mate,, once I watched the setup vid it all became clear,,, in actual fact the vid explains you don't really have to have a switch and in hindsight the switch itself is just a 2 wire affair, not as the manual implies(special construction,,,).
