Is it possible to use a 7 channel rx with a 6 channel tx, if you're only using the spare channel for items that don't require a radio channel, only need a power output? eg Carbsmart doesn't require a channel from the radio, it only needs power for it to operate, or a Voltspy, or indeed some governors!! There is probably a whole list of things that don't need the channel to work, only power .

Yes.
You generally can't mix and match receiver and transmitter brands, but you can have more channels on the receiver than are being ouput from the transmitter and use them for power, as you thought.
